Fra Giovanni wrote a beautiful piece that I want to dedicate to you
because it is so fitting for the New Year.
Greetings in the New Year
I am your friend, and my love for you goes deep.
There is nothing I can give you, which you have not got;
But there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it,
You can take.
No heaven can come to us unless our hearts
Find rest in it today. Take Heaven!
No peace lies in the future, which is not hidden
In this present little instant. Take Peace!
The gloom of the world is but a shadow.
Behind it, yet within our reach, is Joy.
Thee is radiance and glory in the darkness,
Could we but see, and to see, we have only to look.
I beseech you to Look.
Life is so generous a giver, but we,
Judging its gifts by their covering,
Cast them away as ugly, or heavy, or hard.
Remove the covering, and you will find beneath it
A living splendor, woven of love, by wisdom, with power.
Welcome it, grasp it, and you touch the
Angel’s Hand that brings it to you.
Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty,
Believe me, that Angel’s Hand is there; the gift is there,
And the wonder of an overshadowing Presence.
Our joys too: be not content with them as joys.
They, too, conceal Diviner gifts.
Life is so full of meaning and purpose.
So full of Beauty—beneath its covering—
That you will find earth but cloaks your heaven.
Courage then to claim it: that is all!
But courage you have; and the knowledge that we
Are pilgrims together,
Wending through unknown country, home.
And so at this time, I greet you.
Not quite as the world sends greetings,
But with profound esteem and with the prayer
That for you now and forever,
The day breaks, and the shadows flee away forever.
As we move into the New Year let us be aware that we are at choice as to
how we will live our lives. What will you accept for yourself in this New
Year? Jesus the Christ said: “It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you
the kingdom.” What part of the kingdom will you claim for yourself? Are we
taking a teaspoon to the fountain of Life, not wanting to appear overly
presumptuous as to the gifts of Spirit? Undoubtedly, other more advanced
souls will put into place a pipeline directly to their Source of Good,
which is God. “Here’s the paints, here’s the brushes you paint paradise
and in you go!”
I affirm for Innerfaith Spiritual Center Worldwide that we shall grow in Spirit
and in the anointing if the multitudes, yes, the Spirit of the Lord God is
upon us and we shall go forth with the mantle of the Holy Spirit guiding
us every step of the way.
I am deeply blessed by your love and willingness to keep your Divine
Appointment. At one level we are likened to an Ancient Marriage Ritual,
although, the wedding party has not met until they kneel upon the altar on
the wedding day, gloriously, and miraculously the veil is lifted and the
uniting of the souls come together in radiance and joy. The union works!
Come, let us work together in love and joy!
